[…] Here’s his website: Schroeder! at isolanis.com His prison chess fund is a worthy cause. Two caveats. Anyone wishing to make a donation should send books & equipment, not cash. His confidential chess lessons are not worth anything. He rips about 10 pages out of some of his old “books” and tells you to play over the games. Again to be fair, when he lived in Cleveland I used to make donations to the prison fund. Several times he sent me some unsolicited books…not his…but ones like Karpov’s Best Games, etc. One time I got a Christmas card from him…it was recycled. He crossed out the name of the person who sent it to him and mailed it to me. A real character! __________________ Definition of a Master: Every player’s secret opinion of his own ability. […]
